February Tag Swap

Hi Everyone,

Here are some tags I made with the February Kit from Scrap'n With Flair.

Tag #1

I used the Ranger Adirondack, Snow Cap, Paint Dabber on one of my Close To My Heart background stamps and stamped it on the tag.  I dried it with my heat gun and then used Tim Holtz distress inks Lipstick, Barn Door and Walnut Stain to distress the tag.  The two hearts are CTMH stamps that I embossed the image and distress shaded them with the same colors as I used on the tag.  The word LOVE was again a CTMH stamp that I embossed with a glitter red color and fussy cut out.  The flower, brown ribbon, and doilie all came in the kit.

Tag #2

I did the same on the background of this tag as I did the first but used more of the lipstick color.  The flowers and lace came from my stash but the rest all came in the kit.

I sent the second tag along with a package of goodies to my partner.
Here are pictures of the tag and goodies I received in return.

Thank you again to Amy.  Her tag is beautiful and her goodies are wonderful.

Just remember that Scrap'n With Flair has a new swap each month and you just need to go to Elysia's blog to find out all the details about the next one for March and to sign up.

Until next time.

Cards and a Layout using the Sew Ribbon Tools

Hey Everyone,

I purchased the Sew Ribbon templates from Scrap'n With Flair and have made some more cards and a layout with the different templates that I wanted to show you all (I posted some Christmas cards I had made in November with the tools).  These templates are so easy to use and make wonderful additions to any projects.  I highly recommend purchasing them along with the ribbons.

Card #1

I used my cuttlebug to emboss the front of the card.
I used the "leaf" template to stitch down the left side.

I used my spellbinders nestabilities labels 10 dies (pictured below), for the saying, which I purchased from Scrap'n WIth Flair.

Card #2
I used the "shoelace" template on this card but I added the extra ribbon under the templated stitch.  What I mean is, the angled stitches you see is the "shoelace" template and I thought, why not take the ribbon and run it through the stitches to see how it turned out.  I really like the extra look you can get from this template.  The gem butterfly at the top of the card is white but in this picture it looks yellow.
The butterfly looks more normal in this picture and it shows off the stitching better.

Card #3
I have to say, this is my favorite card I have made so far.
It just shows how versatile these templates can be.
I used the "flower" template to make the 3 flowers and the "leaf" template to make the leaves.
I used my sew easy stitching tool to make the stitched stems.
I LOVE how this turned out!!!!!

I love this saying and thought it went so well with this card.

Layout
I have to say that this layout is very boring but until I know what pictures I am going to put on it, I did not want to add a bunch of embellishments or a title.
I promise once I have decided on pictures and finish the layout, I will post pictures of it.
I just wanted an example of what using the Sew Ribbon on a layout would look like.

I used the "weave" template on the layout.

I hope these examples showed how versatile and wonderful the Sew Ribbon templates are.  As I said before, I recommend any crafter purchase these templates to add an extra dimension to their projects.  You can purchase all the templates and ribbon at Scrap'n With Flair along with the Sew Easy tools/fibers as well.

Until next time.

Journal I made with my new Cinch binding tool

Hello everyone,

Here is a journal I made with the Scrap'n With Flair February Kit.  Quantities are limited so purchase yours today.

I made the covers with chipboard that I covered with paper from the Scrap'n With Flair February Kit.

Inside the journal I made pockets out of envelopes before each section of lined paper.  I used patterned paper from the kit to cover the envelopes.

I then made dividers out of cardstock and used up some of the little patterned paper pieces from the kit to make the tabs.

I finally used my cinch that I had purchased a long time ago (from Scrap'n With Flair, of course), to bind the journal together and added a bunch of fibers to the binding to jazz the journal up a bit.

This was my first attempt at making a journal and using my cinch.  I have already come up with more ideas on how to change the journal and other projects to make with my cinch.  I still have more projects to show that I made with this kit so keep on checking back.

As I mentioned before, I was involved in the February tag swap through Scrap'n With Flair and sent my tag away yesterday to Amy in the USA.  Amy is very crafty and from what I saw on her blog, I am very excited to receive my tag from her.  I will post pictures of what I sent and received once I get it as I do not want to spoil the surprise for Amy (in case she checks out my blog).  If you want to see some of Amy's creations, you can go here.

That is all for now.
Until next time.

Paper Bag Album with February Kit from Scrap'n With Flair

Hello Everyone,

Here is an album I made using paper bags and the February Kit from Scrap'n With Flair.  The idea for the album came from Following the Paper Trail's youtube site called Split Paper Bag Album.

The ribbon I used on the spine, the flowers and pearl embellishment did not come in the kit but I purchased it all from Scrap'n With Flair.

I used 3 paper bags that I had purchased from Michaels as I find them a lot nicer to use.  This is a picture of the inside cover.  The pink cardstock piece is a tag that comes out to put a picture or journaling on.  The right side page opens (which you will see better in the next picture) and the green tag comes out for more space to journal or put pictures on.

This is a picture of the inside page opening up.

These are the pages that are made with the bottom of the paper bag making the pockets that I covered with red cardstock.  Again, the vanilla cardstock pieces are removable for journaling or pictures as well as the green tags that are in the paper bag pockets.

When you turn the page, the next picture is what the next pages look like.  The red paper pages open up (as you will see in the next photo).

This is what the inside pages look like when you open the flaps from the above photo.

All the patterned paper I used in this album came from the Scrap'n With Flair February Kit, which I believe are still available for purchase.

The cardstock and some ribbon/embellishments (as I mentioned earlier), did not come in the kit but are all available for purchase from Scrap'n With Flair.

I still have some more projects to show that I made with the kit, so stay tuned.
Until next time.

January Ribbon Swap

Hi Everyone,

In January, Scrap'n With Flair launched their swap of the month and January's was ribbon.

This is the ribbon I sent to my partner.
The yellow ribbon is felt and is flower shaped.

This is the ribbon I received from my partner.

The rules were to send 6 pieces of ribbon that had to be at least 1/2 and inch thick and if they were less than that to send 2 ribbons.  That is why I received 9 ribbons.

I have joined the February swap which is to create and send a Valentines/love themed tag the size of the tags we received in the February Scrap'n With Flair Kit.  There are still a few available if you are interested in purchasing one.

If you are interested in joining the February tag swap, go to Elysia's blog and you can read all the details.  There will be something new each month and you can enter which ever swaps you want throughout the year.

Until next time.

Two Cards with the February Scrap'n With Flair Kit

Hello All,

Here are two cards I made with the February Scrap'n With Flair Kit.

The first card I made, I scored the card every 1/4 of an inch and then lightly inked over the lines with a brown colored ink.  I inked the white paper doilie with pink ink.  The stamped flowers and saying were from my own stamp sets.

In this picture you can see that the paper I used is embossed.  It is beautiful paper.  Actually, all the paper in this kit is gorgeous.

The second card I made I used 2 of the flowers that came in the kit and inked the edges with pink ink again.  I added diamond stickles to the flowers to make them sparkle.  The stems of the flowers and the saying are my own stamp sets.

If you are wondering why sympathy cards, I had a good friend pass away right after I received my kit and made several cards trying to make just the perfect one.  Her favorite color was pink so I was trying to incorporate that into the card.  Of course, the one I chose, I forgot to take a picture of it before I gave it away but I will try and make it again so you can all see.

If you want your own kit, purchase it today, as they are limited.  You can get your kit here.  Keep on coming back as I still have more projects to post about that I made using this kit.

Also, I have joined the February tag swap through Scrap'n With Flair.  If you are interested in joining, Elysia's blog has all the details.  I will post the pictures of the January swap in a few days.

Until next time.

I Won the Liebster Blog ♥ Award

I won an award!!!!
Liebster Blog ♥ Award

I won this awesome award from MrSchiEvous Crafts!!!  Thank you so much Elysia!!!!
I am now "sharing the love" and this award with 5 blogs I love and follow.

What is the Liebster Blog award? Here is a quick explanation.
'Liebster' is German for 'dearest'. The award is a 'share-the-love' arrangement, given to inspirational bloggers with less than 200 followers.

Here's the to-do list of any Liebster award recipient:
  1. Thank the giver and link back to the blogger who gave it to you.
  2. Reveal your five blogger picks and let them know by leaving a comment on their blog.
  3. Copy and paste the award on your blog (see above).
  4. Hope that those you Award Forward it to their Favourite Bloggers (PLEASE).

Here are five of my favourite blogs (in no particular order) with less than 200 followers (based solely on google followers).

1.  My sister Kristelle and her blog Kristelle's Kreations.  She was a guest designer for Scrap'n With Flair and is an overall wonderful person, mother, friend, etc....  I love her to pieces.

2.  My best friend Leanne as well as the owner of Scrap'n With Flair and her blog of the same name (Scrap'n With Flair). Leanne is one of the most wonderful, kind, caring people I know and I have drawn so much inspiration from her crafts and projects.  She is so talented.

3.  A woman named Janaya Stevenson with her blog Baby Steps: A Mom on the Run.  I do not know Janaya but I came across her blog when a good friend of mine and hers, Heather Stearn, passed away.  Her blog is inspirational about overcoming your fears and raining money for cancer research.

4.  Kathy Skipper and her blog It's A Girl Thing.  I found Kathy's blog while I was surfing on the Close to My Heart bulletin boards and loved the projects she has created along with the wonderfully, detailed tutorials.

5.  Jean Johnson and her blog Scrap With Jean.  I love Jean's 3D projects, especially the calendar one from January 17, 2012.  Her creations are fabulous.
Please stop by and congratulate each of these ladies on their win, and let them know you stopped over from my post!!

This was quite a shock and honor today.
Until next time.

New February Kit from Scrap'n With Flair

Hello Everyone,

I have to apologize for the lack of posts since last November but things have been busy and posting was not on the top of my priority list.  I am back now and will try my hardest to post at least once a week, if not more but we will see how things go.

I am sooooo excited today as it is the release of the February Scrap'n With Flair Kit.  There is so much product in this kit that I was able to create a lot of different projects and I still have a lot of the products left.  I will be posting one item every week or so to keep you interested.  The kit goes on sale today and there is a limited supply so if you would like to purchase your own kit, you can get it here.

Here is a picture of the kit and all the goodies that come in it.

1328079727_what's-in-my-kit-(1024x602).jpg

Here is what it contains:

6 1/2 x 6 1/2 paper pad staring the NEW Kaiser Craft Sweet Things Paper
1 - Die cut paper from the Sweet Things line
3 - 12 x 12 double sided papers (Sweet Things)
5 - 12 x 12 double sided papers (Making Memories Jet Adore)
1 - 12 x 12 chipboard
1 - Tim Holtz Ideology small binder ring
1 - Ranger Adirondack, Snow Cap, Paint Dabber
1 - Pkg Maya Road Chipboard Letters
1 - Pkg Prima Bling
8 - Envelopes
2 - Tags
2 - Doilies
1 - Kaiser Craft Berry Vine Wood Flourish
4ft - various ribbon
and a package with flowers and various other ephemera!!!

Here is the first project I made with the kit.  It is an album made with envelopes and the stack the deck binding pattern from Following the Paper Trail.

This is the outside of the album.  The pink rose ribbon was white when I got it and I used reinker to dye it pink.

I glued paper behind the clear tag and attached it along with the gold heart with gold string to the album.  Everything on the cover of the album came in the kit except for the gold string.

Here is the inside of the album.  I have not embellished it because I am still deciding what I want to use the album for.  Once I have figured that out and completed the album, I will post more photos of the completed project.

In the front cover I cut out some tags and tucked them in the border on the left side of the page. I used my blending foam and colored all the envelopes with an aqua color ink. On the right you can see the tag sticking out of the envelope with the pink fibers. There are 6 pages/envelopes in the album which makes 12 pages to put photos or journaling on as well as the 6 tags, front and back makes 12 again. A lot of space to make the perfect album. Now if I could just decide what I want to put in it. I saved papers and embellishments from the kit to finish the album with.

I hope you all like my first project I created with the kit.  I have a lot more and different projects to post over the next month so keep on checking back.  Also, I cannot wait to get the next kit to see if I am just as inspired and creative.

Have a wonderful day!
Until next time.
